The Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) serves the public interest and is accountable to you.
There are more than 239,000 certified teaching professionals in Ontario. Every single one is licensed by the Ontario College of Teachers.
The Ontario College of Teachers:
- sets high ethical standards and standards of practice built on trust, integrity, care and respect
- issues teaching certificates and can suspend or revoke them
- accredits teacher education programs and courses
- investigates and hears complaints about members
